Can cracks be repaired
No, cracks in clear windows usually result from age, loss of plasticizers and cannot be repaired. Generally the panel needs to be replaced
Can hazing/fogging be polished out
Sometimes - there are good products and processes available to reduce the hazing however sometimes just replacing the window can be more cost effective given how much longer it will last (a temporary polish vs a new window that will last for many years)
How should I clean the windows
Care can vary depending on the material however it is a good practice to: rinse first before touching, use a mild soap and water solution with a microfibre cloth. Do not use ammonia based cleaners or paper towels...allow to air dry and avoid storing stacked or rolled if damp or wet.
What type of plastic is used for the windows
Generally two types of flexible material is used: extruded clear vinyl and pressed / polished vinyl in a Varity of thickness. We can recommend several different options to fit your budget and expectations
Why is Pressed / polished glass so much more expensive?
Pressed vinyl provides superior optical clarity, longer life and is less prone to scratching, fading, yellowing, hazing and cracking. Many makes also have specialized coatings to extend the life.
